by posted 05/27/2020

To Our CDBL Community,

I reach out to you again to provide an update on our organization, and specifically our 2020 Return-To-Play plan. Your CDBL board has worked tirelessly to stay up to date on all local and state mandates and what that might mean for a safe and healthy 2020 season.

With that we are pleased to announce the following:

  • As Illinois moves into Phase (3) of the governors (5) phase Restore Illinois plan our travel teams will begin socially distanced practices in appropriate sizes groups on Monday June 1st.
  • We will keep registration open until June 10th to allow those displaced by the closing of neighboring organization the opportunity register.
  • Official start of the 2020 in-house season will begin June 26th.

What we want to make very clear is our unwavering commitment to providing our District 301 and CDBL friends and families a place to play baseball in 2020 if you so choose. We also want to make it very clear that we know this choice is yours and your alone to make. We understand there will be many that want to play, and many that do not.

In that regard we offer the following:

"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game; it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again. Oh…people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come."

Thank you for your patience and support during this time.

Central District Baseball League - Plato Center Baseball Fields_CDBL Receives 2019 Best of Elgin Award

ELGIN October 14, 2019 -- Central District Baseball League - Plato Center Baseball Fields_CDBL has been selected for the 2019 Best of Elgin Award in the Sports Complex category by the Elgin Award Program.

Each year, the Elgin Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Elgin area a great place to live, work and play.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2019 Elgin Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Elgin Award Program and data provided by third parties.

Recognition is given to those companies that have shown the ability to use their best practices and implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value.

The Elgin Award Program was established to recognize the best of local businesses in our community. Our organization works exclusively with local business owners, trade groups, professional associations and other business advertising and marketing groups.
