CDBL Community,

We have an opportunity to join the board or at least see what its all about tonight at 8:00pm via zoom or in-person at CDBL President Tom Wyse's house. Please take a minute to follow the link below to see all the board committees and what each entail. Some are very simple and take a few days of work, and some are very simple but span the entire season. Most are a couple people to a committee so even if you are new you will typically be paired with someone who is not.

CDBL is recognized as one of the best leagues in the area. One of the many reasons we are so successful is because we have parents who go the extra mile to make the experience for our kids the best it can be. Without all of you, we would not be what we are today.

The landscape of youth baseball is changing and as we go into 2021, it will continue to change even more.  We need people who are invested in this league and their children's baseball development to step forward and help continue make this league a top-notch program.

We are an In-House and Travel based baseball program.  We are going to offer a new IHTT (In-House Tournament Team) which will be considered a Part-Time Travel program as well as our Full Travel program. But make no mistake, all these kids started out as In-House players and that is what this league's foundation is built on.

CDBL will be voting in new Board Members on Tuesday, September 22nd at 800 pm. Since we are unable to use school facilities at this time, the meeting will be held at the Wyse Residence (Back Garage) located at 41W460 Greenfield Rd, Elgin IL and we need your help. We wil also have a zoom link ready for people who feel uncomorfotable to attend in person.  If you have a passion for youth baseball and have some good ideas that you think can benefit the league, please come out on September 22nd and join the Board. Please reach out to me with any questions.

Thank you for your time,

Tom Wyse – CDBL president

Being A Part Of CDBL.....
by posted 08/31/2020

We often get asked "What's it like being a part of CDBL Baseball?"

Being a part of CDBL allows our athletes to grow both mentally and physically through training. It's about developing the skills we have to create consistently good habits in baseball.

Two of our own, Evan Larson and Xavier Mikowski, shown here working on their game with professional baseball instructor Sam Klein at KineticZ Training Gym. Their focus is to be committed to excellence and progressing in a positive way on and off the field through CDBL.

This is what "Being A Part" is all about......

2021 CDBL - Travel Team Tryouts
by posted 07/28/2020

CDBL Friends & Families,
Thinking about the 2021 travel Season already!! The CDBL Travel Tryouts will be per the below and will consist of up to the 3 days at any given level.
ALL players trying out for each level will be required to attend Day #1. You may then be asked back for days 2 or 3 depending on the independent evaluators, and coaches feedback.
The travel tryouts will be held as follows:

13U - August 26, 27, 28 @ Stonecrest 3

9U - September 21,22,23 @ Plato Bronco and Mustang
8U - September 21,22,23@ Plato Pinto and T-Ball.

All Times are 5pm-7pm
Online registration is open - CLICK HERE
Walk-up registration is for attendance taking only and for the staff and to get your players number.
The simple answer is to be fair to all players currently on teams. Many organizations have decided to conduct their tryouts as early as July while players are just starting to play with each other. What if a current player doesn't make the 2021 team? How much baseball have they truly played before a July tryout?
We want to give your players every opportunity to play a full season in 2020 and come into Sept. ready to tryout for 2021.
We are keeping tryouts closed to spectators. Please sign in your child, get his number, and you can come back at the conclusion of the evaluations. Plan to return approx. 2 hours after stated start time. If you have a younger player and are uncomfortable with leaving them alone, you may park in the lot and watch from your vehicle. Please do not set up chairs to sit and watch. Please do not stand around and watch.
This is a very stressful day for many of these players and the goal is to provide fewer eyes on them to relieve some pressure, allow them relax, and for them to perform at their best. This will also allow the staff to work quickly without interference or delay.
We have slightly revamped the tryout format for 2021. Some of the same format will be used; however, we are changing to more drills and situational baseball that will provide quantifiable data to our evaluation crew and prospective managers. Some coaches and evaluators will have a scrimmage type feel or setup to their evaluations as well.
We are a CLOSED district program, open only to District 301 families. We offer a low cost, high level travel and Sunday programs. The goal is to keep district 301 kids together and prepare them for high school baseball. TRUE FEEDER TEAM BASEBALL.
What are the advantages of playing CDBL Travel?
• Kids play with their friends, classmates, and future high school teammates
• High level coaching with professional coaches during the pre-season.
• Practices typically begin in January 2-3 times per week.
• Direct feeder program to Central High School Baseball Rockets
o This includes direct access to training sessions and coaching seminars by the Central coaches and assistant coaches.
o Direct access and use of the newly construction multi-million dollar Central High School Fieldhouse for winter training
• Play in quality tournaments with quality competition
• Parents help decide how to manage the budget, trips to take, etc.
• Some of the best home fields and facilities of any league in the area.
• Costs are a fraction of other programs….please shop around!
If you have any question about the process, the dates/times above or would like to learn more about CDBL please reach out to our Travel Coordinator below.

"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game; it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again. Oh…people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come."

Thank you for your patience and support during this time.

ELGIN October 14, 2019 -- Central District Baseball League - Plato Center Baseball Fields_CDBL has been selected for the 2019 Best of Elgin Award in the Sports Complex category by the Elgin Award Program.

Each year, the Elgin Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category.
